Protecting your personal data is important to Reflection (hereinafter "Reflection", "we", "our"). We process personal data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable to visitors from the European Union, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit reflectionstories.ch, for what purposes we process it, and what rights you have.

2. What data we process and why
2.1 Server log data
When you visit the site, our hosting server automatically records technical data needed to deliver the page and to ensure system security and stability: IP address, date and time of the request, requested page, referring website, browser type and language, operating system, device type. This data is not used to identify you, is not combined with other data and is not disclosed to third parties: it serves only technical operation and aggregate statistics. It is kept for as long as technically necessary and then deleted. Hosting is provided by Infomaniak Network SA (Switzerland), which processes this data on our behalf.
2.2 Contact by email and social media
The site contains no contact forms. If you write to us by email or via our social profiles, we process the data you provide (e.g. name, email address, message content) solely to respond to and handle your request. We delete this data once the request has been dealt with, subject to statutory retention obligations.
2.3 Embedded third-party content (videos and maps)
Some pages may contain embedded third-party content, in particular YouTube/Vimeo videos and Google Maps. When you open a page containing them, your browser connects to the provider's servers (Google LLC, Vimeo Inc.) and transmits data such as your IP address; these providers may set cookies. Such processing takes place under the provider's responsibility and according to its terms. For EU visitors, this content is loaded only after your consent (see section 3). Videos hosted directly on our site (mp4 files) involve no transmission to third parties.
3. Cookies, local storage and consent
For basic functionality the site uses only technical local storage in your browser (localStorage) to remember your light/dark theme preference. This is not a tracking cookie, is not transmitted to anyone and is not used to profile you. We do not use analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics), advertising pixels or marketing cookies. The only elements that may set third-party cookies are the embedded contents described in 2.3. For EU visitors we display a consent banner: until you consent, this content is not loaded. You can change your choice at any time by clearing the site's data in your browser.
4. Disclosure and transfer of data
We treat your data confidentially. We disclose it to third parties only where required by law, where necessary for the operation of the site (e.g. our hosting) or with your consent. Log data remains in Switzerland (Infomaniak). Embedded content (section 2.3) may involve a transfer of data to the United States, under the responsibility of the respective providers, which apply the appropriate safeguards required by law.
5. Retention period
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described or required by legal obligations; after that we delete or anonymise it.
6. Data security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. The site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS/TLS).
7. Links to other websites
The site contains links to third-party sites (e.g. social profiles, maps). We have no control over these sites and are not responsible for their data processing; please consult their respective policies.
8. Your rights
Within the limits of the applicable law you have the right to: access your data, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to its processing, and withdraw a given consent. You can exercise these rights by writing to [privacy@reflectionstories.ch]. You also have the right to contact the supervisory authority: in Switzerland, the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), www.edoeb.admin.ch.
9. Changes
We may update this policy at any time. The version published on this page applies. Last updated: june 2026.
